In 2025, I want to build a personal brand that inspires and connects with people beyond the boardroom. I want to share my journey, insights, and lessons so that finance leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers can see the human side of leadership. This is about reaching more people, building a trusted brand, and creating impact at scale because influence is not measured in followers, but in the lives we shape.

Driving Financial Strategy & Scalable Growth

2018 – Present

Progressed from Controller to Chief Accounting Officer to Deputy CFO during Varo’s journey to becoming America’s first nationally chartered digital bank. Partner with the CEO and Board on strategy, fundraising, and investor-grade reporting. Built regulatory-compliant infrastructure, achieved a 4-day close, implemented real-time reporting, and streamlined the finance tech stack.

Strengthening Performance & Global Alignment

2016 – 2018

Directed budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting across retail and commercial activities. Partnered with boards and business leaders to strengthen performance visibility under US GAAP and IFRS. Improved coordination across global teams, ensuring that strategy was aligned not only with numbers but also with people and priorities.

2010 – 2016

Rebuilt finance functions by implementing COSO-based controls, leading GAAP/IFRS policy, and managing external audits. Strengthened compliance, governance, and risk frameworks across the bank. Recognized for turning complexity into clarity and creating systems that lasted beyond market cycles.

2008 – 2010

Specialized in GAAP/IFRS conversions, complex accounting issues, and transaction reporting. Advised multinational clients on new accounting standards and conversion strategy. Delivered training sessions on emerging pronouncements. Valued for making technical concepts accessible to leaders and teams navigating change.

Building Foundations in Capital Markets & Trust

2004 – 2008

Started a career in capital markets and financial services, guiding institutions through complex audits, IFRS/US GAAP reporting, and regulatory challenges. Built a strong foundation in trust, systems, and clarity while advising on complex matters such as derivatives, hedge accounting, and securitizations.

Entrepreneurial Beginnings in Leadership & Resilience

1998 – 2001

Co-founded an event design and consulting firm straight out of school. Turned ideas into memorable experiences, led client strategy and delivery, and learned early lessons in leadership, resilience, and trust. This entrepreneurial beginning shaped a people-first approach that continues to define my leadership today.
